#50 John Grant, Jr c/o '03

John Grant, Jr., was a dominant force in Morehouse College football history, establishing himself as a key player for the Maroon Tiger defense. Known for his exceptional skill and leadership, Grant recorded an impressive 312 tackles over his career, earning accolades and leaving an indelible mark on the program.  During the 2001 season Grant was named Defensive Player of the Year, selected as a SBN All-American and a Black College Sports Page (BCSP) All-American. Grant's excellence on the field culminated with the prestigious 2001 Jake Gaither Trophy, awarded by the 100% Wrong Club of Atlanta to the most outstanding football player at an HBCU. Carrying on a family legacy, Grant follows in the footsteps of his father, John Grant, Sr., an All-SIAC defensive back for Morehouse in 1969 and 1971.  John balanced his athletic and academic pursuits while proudly representing his family and community.
