ATLANTA, Ga. — Morehouse College's Suits & Sneakers fundraising event was a resounding success, generating more than $20,000 in support of the Maroon Tigers basketball program.

Held at Forbes Arena on Saturday, September 12, the event brought together alumni, supporters, community leaders, coaches and student-athletes for an evening celebrating the program's championship season while investing in its continued growth.

Former NC State and UNC Wilmington head coach Kevin Keatts served as the featured speaker, sharing insights from his career in college basketball and speaking about leadership, perseverance and the pursuit of excellence.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of championship rings commemorating Morehouse's historic 2025–26 season. Under first-year head coach Larry Dixon, the Maroon Tigers finished 22–10 overall and 19–5 in conference play, captured the SIAC East Division title and won the SIAC Tournament championship for the first time since 2003.

Morehouse defeated rival Tuskegee in the championship game and advanced to the NCAA Division II South Regional for the program's first NCAA postseason appearance since 2018. Dixon's 22 victories also established a Morehouse record for wins by a first-year head coach.

Members of the championship team received their rings during the program, providing a fitting moment of recognition for the student-athletes, coaches and supporters who contributed to the memorable season.

More than a championship celebration, Suits & Sneakers served as an opportunity for the Morehouse community to support the future of Maroon Tigers basketball. Proceeds from the event will help provide additional resources and opportunities for the program and its student-athletes.

The success of the fundraiser reflected the continued enthusiasm surrounding Morehouse basketball and the strong connection among the program, its alumni and the broader community.
