Atlanta, Ga. | Forbes Arena was filled with instruction, competition and energy throughout the summer as the 2026 Larry Dixon Basketball Camps welcomed more than 200 participants to the campus of Morehouse College.

From the opening Elite Camp in June through the final Elite Camp sessions on Aug. 1-2, Morehouse head men's basketball coach Larry Dixon, his staff, and current basketball players provided three camp opportunities designed to serve youth players, high school teams and advanced prospects.

Each session gave participants an opportunity to develop their skills, compete in a structured environment and learn directly from the Morehouse coaching staff and members of the Maroon Tigers basketball program.

"Our goal was to create a camp environment that taught the game the right way while giving every participant a meaningful experience," Dixon said. "We wanted the younger campers to build a strong foundation, the high school players to grow together and the elite players to understand the level of effort and discipline required to compete in college. Our staff enjoyed working with every camper who came through Forbes Arena this summer."

Morehouse athletic director Harold Ellis praised Dixon and his staff for using basketball to connect the College with young athletes and families from throughout the community.

"These camps represent exactly what we want Morehouse Athletics to be about—developing young people, serving our community and providing memorable experiences on our campus," Ellis said. "Coach Dixon and his staff did an outstanding job of creating an environment where more than 200 participants could learn, compete and grow. We are excited about the continued momentum surrounding our basketball program and the positive impact it is making beyond the court."

The elite camps brought high school prospects to Morehouse for college-style instruction, competitive drills, live-game situations and individual evaluation. Players were challenged to display their basketball IQ, effort, communication and coachability while competing against other talented prospects.

Along with basketball development, the camps allowed participants and their families to experience the Morehouse campus and interact with the coaches and student-athletes who represent the Maroon Tigers program.

The strong turnout continued the momentum surrounding Morehouse basketball under Dixon and demonstrated the program's commitment to developing the game at every level.
