ATLANTA, Ga. — Coming off an SIAC championship season and a return to the NCAA Division II Tournament, Morehouse College men's basketball has announced its complete 2026-27 schedule, featuring 12 home games at Forbes Arena, an early-season trip to Florida and a challenging conference slate as the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference enters a new era without divisions.

The Maroon Tigers' home schedule will be highlighted by the Big Cat Hardwood Classic against Clark-Atlanta on Saturday, Jan. 16, the Den of Honor game against rival Tuskegee on Saturday, Jan. 30, and Senior Night against Central State on Saturday, Feb. 20.

Season ticket packages are on sale now, including new floor premium seating that will put fans closer to the action inside Forbes Arena throughout the season. Individual game tickets will go on sale at a later date.

Game times and additional game promotions will also be announced at a later date. All Morehouse home games will be played at Forbes Arena, and the schedule is subject to change.

Championship Momentum Meets a New-Look SIAC

Morehouse enters the new season after winning the 2025-26 SIAC East Division and advancing through the conference tournament to defeat Tuskegee, 66-56, in the SIAC Championship game. The title was Morehouse's first SIAC Tournament championship since 2003 and sent the Maroon Tigers back to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time since 2018.

The conference landscape will look different in 2026-27 with the SIAC eliminating divisions. Instead of competing for separate East and West titles, conference programs will compete under a single-league structure.

That change adds another layer to a schedule loaded with teams that finished near the top of their respective divisions last season.

Morehouse and Clark-Atlanta finished first and second, respectively, in the SIAC East, while Tuskegee captured the SIAC West championship and Miles finished as the West runner-up. Morehouse eventually defeated Tuskegee in the SIAC Tournament championship game to complete its postseason run.

Season Opens at Anderson Before Florida Challenge

Morehouse opens the season Monday, Nov. 9, on the road against Anderson in Anderson, South Carolina.

The Maroon Tigers then travel to Daytona Beach, Florida, for two nonconference contests against familiar Sunshine State Conference opponents.

Morehouse will face Embry-Riddle on Friday, Nov. 13, before meeting Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Both matchups provide an early measuring stick for the defending SIAC champions.

Morehouse faced both programs in Nashville to begin the 2025-26 season. Embry-Riddle defeated the Maroon Tigers, 73-67, before Palm Beach Atlantic escaped with a 78-77 victory the following afternoon.

The Palm Beach Atlantic matchup gives Morehouse an opportunity to revisit one of the narrowest defeats of last season. The Maroon Tigers led for extended stretches of the 2025 meeting and placed five players in double figures before the Sailfish pulled out the one-point victory.

The two-game Florida swing will be followed by Morehouse's return to Atlanta for its first home games of the season.

Forbes Arena Opens With Albany State and Spring Hill

The Maroon Tigers make their Forbes Arena debut on Thursday, Nov. 19, against Albany State, followed two days later by another home contest against Spring Hill on Saturday, Nov. 21.

Morehouse closes November with a Nov. 30 road trip to Johnson C. Smith in Charlotte, North Carolina.

December begins with consecutive road games at Miles on Dec. 3 and Tuskegee on Dec. 5 before Morehouse returns home for a two-game stand.

The Maroon Tigers host LeMoyne-Owen on Thursday, Dec. 10, followed by Lane on Saturday, Dec. 12.

Morehouse concludes the calendar year on the road against Kentucky State on Dec. 17 and Central State on Dec. 19.

January Brings Championship-Caliber Matchups to Forbes Arena

The Maroon Tigers open 2027 with road games at Savannah State on Jan. 2 and Edward Waters on Jan. 4 before returning home.

Morehouse welcomes Allen to Forbes Arena on Thursday, Jan. 7, followed by Benedict on Saturday, Jan. 9.

After a Jan. 13 trip to Fort Valley State, Morehouse returns home for one of the most anticipated games on the schedule.

Big Cat Hardwood Classic — Jan. 16

The Big Cat Hardwood Classic returns to Forbes Arena on Saturday, Jan. 16, when Morehouse hosts Clark-Atlanta in the first of two meetings between the Atlanta University Center rivals.

The matchup brings together the top two finishers from last season's SIAC East Division. Morehouse captured the East championship, while Clark-Atlanta finished as the division runner-up.

The rivalry has consistently produced one of the premier atmospheres on the Morehouse basketball calendar, with students, alumni and supporters from throughout the Atlanta University Center filling Forbes Arena.

Morehouse won last season's Big Cat Hardwood Classic, rallying from a 16-point first-half deficit for a 78-74 victory over Clark-Atlanta.

The teams will meet again on Saturday, Feb. 13, at Epps Gymnasium.

Following the first Clark-Atlanta matchup, Morehouse travels to Washington, D.C., for an exhibition against Howard on Jan. 18 before returning to SIAC competition at Albany State and Spring Hill.

Miles and Tuskegee Bring West's Best to Forbes

Morehouse closes January with two home games against programs that finished atop the former SIAC West Division standings last season.

The Maroon Tigers host Miles on Thursday, Jan. 28. Miles finished as the SIAC West runner-up in 2025-26 and advanced to the conference tournament semifinals, where Morehouse earned a 71-56 victory on its way to the championship game.

Two nights later, another longtime rival comes to Forbes Arena.

Den of Honor — Jan. 30 vs. Tuskegee

Morehouse and Tuskegee renew one of the SIAC's longstanding rivalries on Saturday, Jan. 30, when the defending SIAC East and West champions meet in the annual Den of Honor game.

Tuskegee won the SIAC West last season before advancing to the SIAC Tournament championship game.

Waiting there was Morehouse.

The Maroon Tigers defeated the Golden Tigers, 66-56, to capture the 2026 SIAC Tournament championship and earn the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Division II Tournament.

The championship meeting added another chapter to a rivalry that had already produced a memorable Den of Honor matchup at Forbes Arena earlier in the season.

The annual Den of Honor celebrates former Maroon Tigers whose accomplishments, service and contributions have helped build the history of Morehouse basketball. Information regarding the 2027 Den of Honor class and ceremony will be announced later.

Regular Season Finishes With Three Straight at Forbes Arena

Morehouse begins February with three consecutive road games, traveling to LeMoyne-Owen on Feb. 4, Lane on Feb. 6 and Clark-Atlanta on Feb. 13.

The Maroon Tigers then return to Forbes Arena for their final three regular-season games.

Morehouse hosts Fort Valley State on Monday, Feb. 15, followed by Kentucky State on Thursday, Feb. 18.

Senior Night — Feb. 20 vs. Central State

The regular season concludes Saturday, Feb. 20, when Morehouse welcomes Central State to Forbes Arena for Senior Night.

Morehouse will recognize its graduating student-athletes prior to their final scheduled regular-season home appearance, celebrating their contributions to the program and Morehouse College.

The three-game homestand will provide Maroon Tiger fans an opportunity to help send Morehouse into postseason play with Forbes Arena serving as the backdrop for the final stretch of the regular season.

SIAC Postseason Begins Feb. 27

The SIAC postseason begins Saturday, Feb. 27, with the SIAC Opening Round.

The tournament then moves to Morrow, Georgia, with the quarterfinal round scheduled for March 3 or March 4. The semifinals are set for Friday, March 5, followed by the SIAC Championship on Saturday, March 6.

With divisions eliminated this season, the road to the conference championship will take on a different look as programs compete under the SIAC's new single-division format.

Morehouse basketball season ticket packages are on sale now, and fans have a new way to experience Maroon Tiger basketball this season with the introduction of floor premium seating at Forbes Arena.

The new premium seating option puts supporters at floor level and closer to McAfee Court, providing an upgraded game-day experience throughout Morehouse's 12-game home schedule.

Season ticket holders can secure their seats for a home slate that includes the Big Cat Hardwood Classic against Clark-Atlanta, the Den of Honor rivalry game against defending SIAC West champion Tuskegee, a matchup with 2025-26 SIAC West runner-up Miles, Senior Night and the complete Morehouse conference home schedule.

Individual game tickets will go on sale at a later date.

Additional game promotions and all game times will be announced at a later date.
