ATLANTA, GA | The SIAC office announced today the post-season awards for football for the 2024 season. Morehouse Linebacker
Caleb Grant was the lone Maroon Tiger to be selected to either the first-team or second-team on either side of the ball.
Caleb Grant (Lilburn, GA; Parkview HS), a 5'8" Senior linebacker, not only led the Maroon Tigers statistically in most defensive categories, but the ranked at the top or near the top in the SIAC in those same categories. For the season, Grant was third, in the SIAC, in total tackles with 81, but second in solo tackles with 55. Grant was tied with Robert Brown (Lane) and Israel Nwokocha (Benedict), in tackles-for-loss, with 14.5. Grant was tied with Xavier Esquillen (Savannah State) in sacks with 9.5 but Grant's sacks accounted for more negative yardage (68 vs. 56).
In conference only games, Grant's 9.5 sacks and 14.0 tackles for loss were the best against SIAC competition. The Maroon Tigers defense was the best passing defense in conference only games, allowing only 159.9 yards-per-game, 18 yards better than second place Clark-Atlanta.
Grant has been honored twice this season as SIAC Defensive Player of the Week: Week 3 for his 12 tackles day versus FCS Howard (
Story) and Week 11 for his nine tackles, one sack, and a pick-six performance against SIAC Championship Game participant Clark-Atlanta (

Head Coach Terance Mathis and Defensive Coordinator
