ATLANTA, GA | Morehouse College has announced its 2026 football schedule, a slate that features a season-opening neutral-site matchup, historic rivalry games, marquee classics, and key conference contests in the first season under new head coach Brad Sherrod.

The Maroon Tigers will open the 2026 campaign on Saturday, August 29 against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in the Nature State Kickoff Classic in Little Rock, Arkansas. The matchup will mark the start of a new era for Morehouse football as Sherrod makes his debut on the Maroon Tigers' sideline.

Morehouse will then begin SIAC play in one of the most anticipated games on the schedule, facing rival Clark Atlanta in the Big Cat Classic on Saturday, September 5 during Labor Day Weekend. The contest will serve as the SIAC opener for both programs and will also feature a unique storyline, as both institutions' new head coaches make their SIAC debuts in the rivalry matchup.

The Maroon Tigers return home on September 12 to host Central State and then travel to Lane College on September 19 for a road conference test.

Morehouse comes back to Atlanta on September 26 to take on Edward Waters in a game that will also serve as Senior Day, honoring the program's veteran student-athletes.

October begins with one of the program's signature traditions, as Morehouse meets Tuskegee on October 3 in Montgomery, Alabama, for the annual Morehouse-Tuskegee Classic. The Maroon Tigers then return home on October 10 to host Savannah State for Homecoming, one of the premier weekends on the College's fall calendar.

On October 17, Morehouse will make a non-conference road trip to face Howard, before enjoying an open date on October 24.

The Maroon Tigers close the regular season with consecutive SIAC road games, traveling to Allen on October 31 and Kentucky State on November 7. The SIAC Championship Game is set for November 14.

With a new head coach leading the way and a schedule filled with rivalry matchups, classics, and conference opportunities, the Maroon Tigers will look to make a strong statement throughout the 2026 season.
