SCOUTING MHC- Morehouse enters Wednesday's game with a 2-1 record after Saturday evening's win against Winston-Salem State University that saw sophomore guard
Malik Kennedy (Toronto Ontario, Canada) score 14 points on 2-3 from 3-point range. Freshman guard
Julian Alexander (Atlanta, Georgia) also scored 14 points but shot a better percentage from three, shooting 4-6 from that distance. Senior guard
Michael Olmert (Atlanta, Georgia) contributed 14 points, and 8 rebounds, two short of a double-double.
SCOUTING UNG- The Nighthawks have started the season 3-1, with their one loss occurring on Saturday to Southern Wesleyan University in overtime 81-87. Senior Carrod Watson had a huge game, with 20 points and six rebounds. Senior guard Zez Steeple added 16 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. Guard Bailey Minor had 12 points and six rebounds.
OLMERT NAMED POW - Olmert, a 2019 All-SIAC pre-season selection, led #25 Morehouse College to a 2-1 record last week. In three games, Olmert scored in double figures each game averaging 15 points, 5.6 rebounds and 6.3 assists from his point guard position. Against Fisk, he fell just shy of a triple-double as he finished with 11 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists. In a one point lost to Shaw, Olmert had a team-high 24 points, six rebounds and four assists. In the last game of the CIAA/SIAC Challenge, Olmert finished with ten points and eight assists in a win versus Winston-Salem State.
WHERE DO WE RANK? - The Maroon and White come into tonight's game ranked #25 in the NABC Coaches Poll. Last season Morehouse was ranked as high as #3, the highest national ranking in MHC history.
