Box Score December 2, 2017 – ATLANTA – Morehouse won an eighth straight game to start the season, beating the Paine College Lions, 100-57. The win surpasses the 7-0 mark to start the season, set by the 1988-89 Maroon Tigers and moves Morehouse up one spot to #6 in the D2SIDA South Region Poll.
Morehouse led from wire-to-wire and pressured the 1-6 Lions into 28 turnovers and winning the rebounding battle, 50-37.
Tyrius Walker led the Maroon Tigers with 28 points and three steals. Walker, who averages 19.7 points, hit 11 of 23 shots, including five three-pointers. Walker's game high 28 points follows a career-high 35 points, which he posted against Miles, Monday.
Martravious Little rebounded from two sub-par scoring games, with 18 points. Little, the team co-captain, along with Walker, averages 11.1 points per game, but had scored a combined 15 points in the last two games. He broke out of that slump in a big way, with 7 of 11 shooting, five rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Jordan Wallace put up 13 points, on 4 of 8 shooting from the field, including four from long range.
Omar Alston and Kairo Whitfield had nearly identical stats lines. Alston put up eight points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Whitfield had eight points and five rebounds.
Newcomer Tony Evans had his best game as a Maroon Tiger, with seven points and seven rebounds. The junior transfer from Atlanta hit three of his six shots and played 19 minutes – well above his nine-minute average.
Ronzell Evans led the Lions, with 15 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

The December 14 game against the University of the Virgin Islands has been cancelled.
