Maroon Tigers Down Rams on Road

Box Score November 17, 2017 -- N.C. -- Martravious Little poured in 20 points and four other Maroon Tigers posted double figures, as Morehouse won a third consecutive game, with an 87-72 victory over the Winston-Salem State University Rams. 

Morehouse jumped out to a 51-41 halftime lead and added to that after intermission.  

The senior guard from Wilkinson County (GA) led all all players and hit 9 of 14 shots and two free throws. 

Tyrius Walker nearly matched Little's output, hitting 7 of 13 shots for 19 points. 

Jordan Wallace added 13 points and Omar Alston and Kairo Whitfield chipped in 10 points each. Alston pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds, to notch his second double-double of the season and helping Morehouse to 45-38 rebounding advantage.  

Michael Olmert led all players with five assists.

The Tigers forced 16 turnovers, while committing only 11 of their own. 
 
Four Rams posted double figures, led by Jamel McAllister, with 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Tigers won the first matchup of the four-game, two-day CIAA/SIAC Challenge, which also included Fort Valley State and host Shaw University. Morehouse will play Shaw tomorrow and Fort Valley will play Winston-Salem State.
