January 26, 2017 – ATLANTA – Five Maroon Tigers scored in double figures and Morehouse beat the Albany State Golden Rams, 82-77.

Morehouse fell behind by nine points early in the first half, but rallied for a 41-30 halftime lead. Martravious Little scored 14 of his 16 points in the first half and Duby Maduegbunam and Ayinde Russell chipped in seven points each, to fuel the first-half turnaround.

In the second half, the Maroon Tigers maintained the double-digit lead until a final charge by the Rams closed the lead to 77-75, in the final minute. A dunk by Maduegbunam and four straight free throws by Tyrius Walker restored the order and sent nearly 2,000 Morehouse fans home happy.

The second straight win raised Morehouse's record to 11-6; 5-4 SIAC. Albany State dropped to 9-11; 3-6 SIAC.  

Ayinde Russell led the Tigers with 20 points. Half of his points came from the free-throw line, where he hit 10 of 12.

Walker turned in another all-court game, finishing with 13 points, five rebounds, five assists, two steals and a block.

Maduegbunam collected a game-high 14 rebounds, to go with his 12 points, five assists and two steals.

Omar Alston posted 10 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists.  

Kivon Taylor chipped in four points and six rebounds. Jordan Russell added five points and two rebounds andMichael Olmert contributed two points, five assists and two steals.

ASU's Brandon Hughes powered the Rams' comeback, with 10 of his team-high 15 points in the second half. Tylen Walker also contributed to the Ram's second-half rally, scoring all seven of his points late in the game.

In one of the most anticipated games of the season, Morehouse will take on cross-campus rival Clark Atlanta University, Monday, at 6 p.m., at Epps Gymnasium, on the CAU campus.
