Box Score November 12, 2016 – ATLANTA – Morehouse jumped out to an early lead and hung on to win, 76-72, over the Rollins College Tars.
The win was the second in two days over a Florida team, in the SIAC-SSC Challenge, at Forbes Arena.
Earlier in the day, Clark Atlanta beat the Florida Institute of Technology, the other representative of the Sunshine State Conference.
Yesterday, Morehouse beat the Florida Tech Panthers, 79-68, and Clark Atlanta lost to Rollins, 69-60.
In today's game, three Maroon Tigers posted double figures, led by 22 points from Duby Maduegbunam, who scored seven of those points in the final two minutes, to help thwart a Tars comeback. Yesterday, in the win over Florida Tech, Maduegbunam posted 16 points and 12 rebounds in his Maroon Tiger debut.
Martravious Little had his second big scoring night, hitting 8 of 12 shots, for 17 points. The 6-0 "Little Big Man" added six points and two steal to an all-around solid game. Yesterday, he poured in a team-high 18 points, to go with four rebounds.
Tyrius Walker chipped in 13 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals and improved on his 10-point, seven-rebound performance yesterday.
Omar Alston pulled down a game-high eight rebounds and staged a private block party, swatting away six Tars shots, to go with two assists and two steals.
Jordan Wallace contributed nine points and two steals and Joshua Holmes added seven points.
The Maroon Tigers will travel to Milledgeville, GA, Tuesday, to play the Georgia College & State University Bobcats, at 7 p.m.
Morehouse returns to Forbes Arena, Friday, at 7 p.m., to face the Shaw University Bears.
