Box Score Senior Austin Anderson went out with a bang in his last home game as a Maroon Tiger, scoring 19 points and helping Morehouse to a 77-60 win over the Clark Atlanta Panthers.
Anderson slashed and dashed his way to a season high, hitting 5 of 8 shots from the field and 8 of 10 free throws. After a slow first half, the team captain came alive in the second, with 15 points. Anderson In a stretch of a minute-and-a-half scored nine consecutive Morehouse helping the Maroon Tigers expand their 33-20 halftime lead.
Tyrius Walker led all scorers with 20 points. Walker, the team scoring leader, saved his best for last, with 13 second-half points. Most of his points came from the line where he hit 12 of 16. Walker grabbed eight rebounds and handed out five assists.
Michael Hall added 12 points and eight rebounds, and Robert Askew chipped in 10 points.
Miodrag Minic had his best game of the season, hauling in a game-high 10 rebounds. Minic provided much-needed on both ends of the floor, in his season-high 27 minutes of action, which nearly tripled his 9.4 minutes-per-game average.
Morehouse improved to 14-10; 12-5 SIAC and remains in second place in the SIAC East Division, a game ahead of Benedict. Clark Atlanta dropped to 6-19; 5-15 SIAC.
In their previous meeting, on January 13, Morehouse won 81-71. Two Morehouse wins this season avenge last season's results, when CAU won both games.
Morehouse will finish the season on the road, with games at Albany State, Monday, and Paine, Thursday.
The SIAC tournament runs March 3-8, in Birmingham, AL.
