December 5, 2015 – TUSKEGEE, AL – Javarius Gay made his first start of the season his best game of the season, pouring in 14 points and leading Morehouse to a come-from-behind, bounce-back win over the Tuskegee Golden Tigers.

The Maroon Tigers rebounded from Thursday's 74-56 loss at Miles, to hand Tuskegee its first conference loss.

Gay hit 6 of 11 shots and led four Maroon Tigers in double-digit scoring. His 10 points in the second-half helped Morehouse battle back from a 14-point second-half deficit.

The 6-1 senior from Urbana, IL hauled down six rebounds and tied two Maroon Tigers for the team high. Gay's best game this season was a 10-point, three rebound effort in the win over West Georgia.

More than doubling their shooting accuracy from 23 percent in the first half to 54 percent in the second half, the Maroon Tigers outscored the Golden Tigers 38-28 after intermission.

Team scoring leader Tyrius Walker and freshman Anthony Farrar joined the second-half scoring barrage, combining for 21 points. Five of those points came as free throws in the final minutes and were the margin of victory. Walker scored 10 of his 12 total points and Farrar scored all of his 11 points in the rally.     

Morehouse had a season-low 10 turnovers and enjoyed a 44-31 rebounding edge. Tyrone Brown and Miodrag Minic, each with six rebounds, contributed to the Morehouse rebounding advantage. Brown added 10 points.

Gay, who started 26 of 28 games last season, got the starting nod in favor of freshman Omar Alston who played only six minutes off the bench and scored two points.   

Morehouse is still playing without center Robert Askew who has missed the first six game because of an ankle injury.

Morehouse improved to 5-1; 1-1. Tuskegee fell to 5-4; 1-1.

The Maroon Tigers will play their final game of the year, Saturday, at 3 p.m., when they host the Georgia College & State University Bobcats, at Forbes Arena.
