Box Score Three Maroon Tigers posted double figure in the second half and powered Morehouse to a 79-66 win over the Tuskegee Golden Tigers.
After trailing 30-28 at the half, Austin Anderson, Robert Askew and Tyrius Walker scored 41 or their combined 47 points after intermission and fueled a 51-36 Maroon Tiger explosion.
Seeing their first conference action of the season, both teams moved to 3-5.
Hot shooting and protecting the ball were the keys to victory. The Maroon Tigers shot a season-high 53 percent and committed a season-low 11 turnovers.
Askew collected 11 of his game-high 12 rebounds in the second half and recorded his first double-double of the season.
Austin, who was a DNP in the first six games because of a knee injury, got most of his 15 points at the free-throw line, where he hit 11 of 13 shots.
Continuing to improve his shot selection and shooting percentage, Walker posted a season-best 17 points, to go with four rebounds.
Javarius Gay had a solid game, with eight points, four rebounds and two assists.
Tuskegee's David Alexander led all scorers with 24 points.
Morehouse will play SIAC newcomer Spring Hill College, Monday, at 7:30 p.m., at Forbes Arena. Spring Hill, of Mobile, AL, joined the SIAC, in 2014. The Badgers lost ,76-58, at Paine College, Saturday.
