Maroon Tigers Slip on Road

November 30, 2014 – WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- After identical first and second half scores, the Maroon Tigers fell short in overtime and lost, 78-73, to Palm Beach Atlantic University.

Evenly matched, with nine ties and 10 lead changes, the outcome came down to free-throw shooting. Only hitting 8 of 14 shots from the free-throw line in regulation, the Flames hit 6 of 6 from the line in overtime, to put the game away.   

By contrast, the Maroon Tigers missed two free throws in the final minutes of regulation and missed their only two shots from the line in overtime.

Michael Scott, who led Morehouse with 15 points, continued his hot shooting and has replaced Tyrone Brown as the team's leading scorer, at 15.0 ppg.

Robert Askew, who hit 6 of 8 shots and scored 14 points, tied with teammate Tyrone Brown for a game-high eight rebounds. Brown (7 pts.) averages 10.3 boards per game and leads the team in rebounding.  

Jonathan Walker had a blistering shooting day, missing only one of his seven attempts and finishing with 13 points.

PBA got balanced scoring from four players in double figures, led by Evin Graham who posted a game high 21 points, to go with five rebounds, four assists and three steals.  

Morehouse travels to Charlotte, NC, Friday and Saturday, for the CIAA/SIAC Challenge. The Maroon Tigers take on Virginia Union, Friday, and Johnson C. Smith, Saturday.
