February 9, 2013 – ATLANTA – The Maroon Tigers captured Lucky #13 in a row, with a 78-49 victory over the Claflin University Panthers.
In what was billed as the “Maroon Out,” the Maroon Tigers turned on the dunk machine, to the delight of nearly 1,200 Morehouse faithful. Player after player slammed it down, on the way to the season's second-largest margin.
Improving to 14-5 (12-SIAC), Morehouse shot 57 percent from the field and out-rebounded Claflin 42-23.
Darrius Williams recorded his sixth double-double of the season, with 15 points and 10 rebounds, to go with a game-high five assists.
Andrae Nelson had a game-high 18 points and seven rebounds and Shawn Allen added 15 points and five rebounds.
Austin Anderson chipped in nine points and Jonathan Tassin contributed seven and three rebounds.
Michael Jones hit four three-pointers in the first half, to help the Panthers keep it close, but scored only four points in the second half and finished with a team-high 16 points and five rebounds.
Morehouse will play the rescheduled Clark Atlanta game, Sunday, at 3 p.m., in CAU's Epps Gymnasium. A limited number of tickets are still available.

Maroon Tiger Fans, we have been able to procure 200 additional game tickets for the Morehouse vs. CAU basketball game on this Sunday at 3:00 pm in CAU's Epps Gymnasium. The tickets are $15 per ticket. Unfortunately no student discount given the smaller capacity of Epps.
Tickets will be on sale today at the Morehouse vs. Claflin game in Forbes Arena from 3:00 to 5:00 pm.The table will be located next to the Concessions area in Forbes. If you are coming to the game today, please remember to wear Maroon, as we go for our 13th straight win!
