Morehouse Wins Twelfth Straight

February 4, 2013 -- ATLANTA -- Shawn Allen poured in 31 points, to help Morehouse knock off the Albany State Golden Rams, 75-70, and stretch the winning streak to 12 games. 
 
Morehouse trailed most of the game, but never by more than eight points. In the end, solid free-throw shooting (72 percent) and aggressive defense turned the tables against the 5-12 Rams.
 
Allen was filling it up from all over the floor, hitting from inside and out. He hit 12 of 17 shots from the field and 4 of 5 from the line, on the way to a season high. On defense, he had four blocks and a steal.
 
 Darrius Williams came within a rebound of his fourth consecutive double-double. His nine rebounds were a game high and he finished with 16 points, three assists and two steals.
 
Andrae Nelson had a solid 27 minutes, collecting 11 points, six rebounds, three blocks and two steals.
 
Austin Anderson chipped in 11 points and three assists.
 
Jaren Harris set the pace for the Rams, with 20 points and four assists. Justin Wilcox had 14 and Jerome Hamilton chipped in 12 points and a team-high six rebounds.
 
Morehouse is idle until Saturday, when the Claflin Panthers come to Forbes Arena, at 3:30 p.m.
 
The Maroon Tigers were scheduled to play in Tuskegee, Thursday, but that game has been cancelled.
 
The Morehouse-Clark Atlanta game, scheduled for this past Saturday, has yet to be rescheduled.
