Lions Maul Maroon Tigers

January 17, 2012 -- AUGUSTA, GA -- The Maroon Tigers jumped out to a 13-5 lead then surrendered 19 straight points, setting the stage for an 84-54 loss to the Paine College Lions.

Paine's victory avenged a 90-74 win by the Tigers, January 2, at Forbes Arena, and drops Morehouse to 3-8 (3-6 SIAC). 

The Tigers shot 16-of-61 from the field, for a season-low 27 percent, and were out-rebounded 49-35.

Shawn Allen, with 15 points and 10 rebounds, was the only Tiger in double figures, as Morehouse dropped a third straight game.

Andrae Nelson, Morehouse's leading scorer and rebounder, played only four minutes, scoring four points and grabbing one rebound.

Adam Callaway exceeded his season average, with eight points, to go with five rebounds. Daniyal Faquir

Four Lions scored in double figures, led by Geno Green, with 22 points. Paine improved to 9-4 (8-3 SIAC).

The Tigers travel to Tuscaloosa, AL, Thursday, to face Stillman.
