March 3, 2011 – ATLANTA – Playing without head coach Grady Brewer at the helm, the Maroon Tigers bowed out of the SIAC tournament, losing to the Tuskegee Golden Tigers, 78-72.
In the absence of Brewer, who suffered severe flu-like symptoms, the Maroon Tigers gave it their all for assistant coach Douglas Augusta, but fell short against the Golden Tigers.
Morehouse, the #6 seed, had played a double-overtime game late into the previous night, while Tuskegee, the #3 seed, drew a bye in the first round and had the night off.
In his final game as a Maroon Tiger, senior Roderick Williams had another outstanding outing. Prior to the game, Williams, the team captain, was presented his award for being voted to the All-SIAC second team.
The leading field-goal percentage shooter in the nation, Williams hit 4-of-4 shots from the field and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line, for a team-high 16 points. He also tallied five rebounds and three blocked shots.
Christopher Clark, whose three-pointer with eight seconds remaining won Wednesday's game against Miles, contributed eight points, as did Dana Kendrid and
Jonathan Tassin.
Senior Jelani Figures, who missed the two previous games with a high ankle sprain, played briefly, but, with a pronounced limp, was largely ineffective. He scored four points. Senior Joshiah Anabraba went scoreless, with three rebounds.
Morehouse ends the season at 14-14.
