February 18, 2011—JACKSON, TN – The Maroon Tigers sprinted to an early lead and never looked back, on the way to an 87-74 win over the Lane College Dragons.
With their best three-point shooting of the season (11-of-21), the Maroon Tigers met little resistance from the 5-15 Dragons. After taking a 45-26 lead at the half, Morehouse built the lead to 30 points early in the second period and cruised.
Daniyal Faquir set the pace for the Tigers, hitting 7-of-12 shots from beyond the three-point arc and 8-of-9 free throws. He finished with a game-high 31 points, his second 30-plus game in 10 days.
Roderick Williams hit 7-of-8 shot from the field, for 14 points, and
Mario Farris chipped in 10 points.
On Tuesday, the Maroon Tigers will square off against the conference-leading Benedict College Tigers, at 7:30 p.m., in Columbia, SC. Morehouse lost to Benedict, 72-69, on February 3.
