February 17, 2011 – MEMPHIS, TN – The Maroon Tigers jumped out to a 15-0 lead over the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians then had to hold on at the end, for an 80-78 win.
Morehouse led from wire to wire and held a double digit lead for much of the game, but the Magicians tied it up with two minutes remaining, before the Tigers tightened up and pulled out the win.
Daniyal Faquir continued his long-range accuracy, hitting 6-of-10 threes, to finish with a game-high 25 points.
Jelani Figures halted his scoring slide, with 18 points, sinking 7-of-11shots from the field and 4-of-5 free throws.
The Maroon Tigers shot only 12-of-24 free throws, but out-rebounded the hosts 40-31.
A.J. Nance led the Magicians with 21 points.
Morehouse will travel to Jackson, TN, Saturday, at 3 p.m., for a make-up game against the Lane College Dragons.
