Tunica, MS | The Maroon Tigers entered this year's SIAC Championship with confidence and optimism after a strong spring season that included one team victory and two individual wins. Those results helped build momentum as the team arrived ready to compete against the conference's best.
Entering the championship, the Maroon Tigers were ranked 4th in the conference, which placed them in the opening wave of tee times for the first two rounds. Their goal from the start was clear: play their way into the final grouping for Round 3 by moving into contention. Through strong and consistent play, they did exactly that.
The team posted rounds of 307 and 304 over the first two days, which moved the Tigers into 3rd place heading into the final round. Both scores were right in line with the program's season scoring average of 308. Individually, Tyler Stackhouse delivered an impressive 73 in Round 2, while Izaiah Stewart opened the championship with a steady 75 in Round 1.
Heading into the final round, the Tigers found themselves in a new and exciting position—teeing off in the championship grouping alongside the conference leaders. After a difficult start, the team showed resilience, composure, and maturity by settling in and battling back throughout the day.
The Maroon Tigers finished the SIAC Championship in 3rd place with a three-round total of 928 (+64). That score marked a remarkable 60-shot improvement from last year's SIAC Championship, highlighting the significant progress this program has made over the past year.
The season now continues on a national stage, as the Tigers have been invited to compete in the PGA WORKS National Championship at The Park at West Palm from May 4–6 in West Palm Beach. Tournament coverage will air on Golf Channel from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM each day.

The PGA WORKS Collegiate Championship is one of the most prestigious collegiate golf events in the country and serves as a national championship that showcases talented student-athletes from Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Minority-Serving Institutions, and other diverse collegiate programs. Organized by PGA of America, the championship provides elite competition, national television exposure, and valuable networking opportunities within the golf industry. Beyond the competition itself, the event is significant because it creates pathways for students in careers such as golf management, business, media, coaching, and leadership while highlighting the continued growth of diversity in the game. For programs like Morehouse College, receiving an invitation is both an honor and a reflection of meaningful progress on a national stage.
