ATLANTA — Due to weather conditions associated with Hurricane Isaias and their potential impact on the Atlanta area, the Morehouse College Homecoming football game against Savannah State University has been postponed from Saturday, Oct. 10 to Sunday, Oct. 11. Kickoff at B.T. Harvey Stadium is now scheduled for 11 a.m. ET on Sunday. Stadium gates and tailgating areas will open at 10 a.m. The game was originally scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m.
Morehouse College announced Friday that all Homecoming activities scheduled for Saturday have been postponed to Sunday as weather conditions have continued to deteriorate. College leadership has been working with City of Atlanta and State of Georgia officials, and the governor has declared a state of emergency.
The decision was made collaboratively by External Relations and Alumni Engagement, Event Operations, Athletics, the Office of Campus Safety and the City of Atlanta, with the safety and well-being of students, faculty, staff, alumni, guests, vendors and game-day personnel serving as the highest priority.

Savannah State enters the contest 1-4 overall and 1-3 in conference play following a 38-36 victory over Allen. The Maroon Tigers will now look to carry the momentum from their rivalry win into a rare Sunday Homecoming kickoff at B.T. Harvey Stadium.
Sunday Homecoming Schedule
The revised Homecoming schedule begins Sunday morning with the Presidential Town Hall at 9 a.m. in King Chapel. Tailgating areas and stadium gates will open at 10 a.m., followed by kickoff between Morehouse and Savannah State at 11 a.m. Chapel Vesper Services will be rescheduled, with an updated date and time to be announced through official College channels. Monday classes will proceed as scheduled.
Saturday Travel Advisory
Morehouse College strongly urges alumni, guests, vendors and other attendees not to travel to campus or report for Homecoming activities on Saturday, Oct. 10. The College recognizes that the schedule change may affect travel plans, particularly for visitors who had planned to leave Atlanta on Sunday. However, after evaluating the anticipated weather conditions and the risks associated with conducting large outdoor events, College officials determined that moving Saturday's activities to Sunday was the most responsible course of action.
Tickets
Football and tailgate tickets will remain valid for Sunday's rescheduled events. Game-day and tailgate tickets remain nonrefundable under the current College policy. Morehouse College will not reimburse travel expenses to or from Atlanta. Additional information regarding any football ticket credit or future admission policy will be announced once confirmed by the College.
