Atlanta, GA  |  The SIAC office announced that Seve Spruill, II (SO, Plymouth Whitemarsh HS, Conshohocken, PA) was selected as the specialist of the week for his performance against the Bebedict Tigers at B.T. Harvey Stadium this past Saturday.  The award marks the third consecutive week that a Maroon Tiger has been honored by the SIAC office.  Last week, Sean Johnson was chosen as the defensive player of the week for his performance against Kentucky State.  Caleb Grant received the defensive player of the week honor two weeks ago for his performance against Howard.  .

Spruill kept the Maroon Tigers in the ball game with his foot on Saturday.  In a game that was a dominated by defense, the Maroon Tigers needed Spruill's punting to help put the Benedict Tigers in compromising field positions.  Spruill punted the ball nine times, for an average of 38.7 yards per punt.  Spruill had a long punt of 48 yards, placing four punts inside the 20-yard line, with none of his punts landing in the end zone.  The Maroon Tigers were defeated 21-5 by Benedict, in the contest.

Spruill, and the rest of the Maroon Tigers will travel to Columbus, GA to face the Tuskegee Golden Tigers in the 85th Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic.  Kickoff is set for 2PM at A.J.
