Morehouse Football Alumni Association Hosted Their 3rd Annual Maroon Tiger Awards Gala

Atlanta, GA- On Saturday, August 19th the Morehouse football alumni association hosted their 3rd annual Maroon Tiger Awards Gala.

The MFAA selected four alumni honorees for this year's event. Receiving the alumni awards were the mayor of Montgomery, Alabama Steven Reed class of '96,  and Jim Barker class of '64 who served as a former NSSFNS Director & Morehouse Athletics Historian. The Community Award was received by Nzinga "Zing" Shaw class of '01 Spelman College. The Blazing Tiger award was handed to Tyler Hunter '23 who graduated with his degree in Mathematics. 
 
The Morehouse Football Alumni Association's goal for this year's event was to raise $100,000 to support facility upgrades, scholarships, & other needs for the football program. 
 
The MaroonTiger House of Funk marching band made their appearance as well. Giving fans & alumni a taste of what to hear for this upcoming season. The Maroon Tigers kick off next Sunday in Canton as they take on Virginia Union University in this year's Hall of Fame Classic. The game will be televised on the NFL network.
