ATLANTA, GA - The Morehouse College football team welcomed 15 student-athletes who signed National Letters of Intent on National Signing Day to it's football program on Wednesday.
The 15 players hail from six different states - 10 from within the state of Georgia, and one each from Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Maryland and South Carolina.
"As a program, we are moved beyond excitement with our 2020 Recruiting class which consists of 15 highly regarded scholar-athletes ready to embrace the tradition and rigors of Morehouse College," said head coach
Rich Freeman.
"We satisfied our academic standards with an overall grade point average slightly north of 3.3, we were able to add meaningful depth to the position of quarterback while also providing size and speed on the perimeter at receiver. We also became a more physical football team defensively with hard-nosed additions to our defensive line and secondary."
"While addressing deficiencies in the kicking game, we were able to acquire long, athletic linebackers with the mobility of defensive backs, to give us better coverage on our kicks."
"We are always looking to add depth to our offensive line. With this incoming class, we had huge success in that all of our offensive line signees are able to play all three o-line positions."
"Building from a spectacular recruiting year in 2019, we were able to carefully spot recruit for this year and have all the confidence that 2020 will be a year to remember."
Additional recruits are expected to sign NLI's later in the week.
