Former Morehouse Standout Set to Star on The Big Screen

ATLANTA  – Former Morehouse star running back, John David Washington, is set to star in the lead role in Spike Lee's much anticipated movie release of "BlaKkKlansman" which premieres Aug. 10 in theaters nationwide.
 
Washington a 2006 Morehouse graduate, is the school's all-time career leading rusher, and no stranger to the big screen with supporting roles on HBO's series "Ballers", and such movies as "The Book of Eli" and "Malcolm X."
 
While a Maroon Tiger Washington finished his career with 3,669 total rushing yards. In his final season he rushed for 1,198 yards and nine touchdowns. He would later sign a free agent contract with the St. Louis Rams, and played four years with the Sacramento Mountain Lions of the United Football League.
 
In his biggest movie role yet, Washington plays a Colorado Springs detective who infiltrates the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan in the 70's.
