Box Score November 28, 2016 – CARROLLTON, GA – Jordan Wallace hit a three-pointer with 11 seconds remaining, to lift Morehouse to an 88-85 win over the West Georgia Wolves.
Wallace, a 6-4 forward from Flint, MI, finished with a game-high 23 points. He hit 9 of 14 shots, including four threes, but none bigger than the game winner. His nothing-but-net three from in front of the Morehouse bench brought the curtains down on the Wolves comeback and launched his teammates to their feet in celebration.
The Maroon Tigers led most of the game, including by 39-34 at halftime. They came out hot in the second half and extended the lead to 10 points in the early minutes.
The Wolves howled back with a furious run and the lead changed hands for most of the last 10 minutes.
Three other Tigers posted double figures.
Tyrius Walker hit 8 of 16 shots, from the field, and 5 of 7 from the line, for 22 points. He tacked on three rebounds and two assists, for the kind of big game that earned him last week's SIAC Player of the Week award. Walker's 22 helped him edged out Martravious Little as the team scoring leader.
Little chipped in 12 points, on 5 of 11 shooting, to go with four rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Duby Maduegbunam battled early foul trouble and scored seven of his 10 points in the second half.
Omar Alston and Kairo Whitfield played strong in the middle against a bigger, more senior West Georgia front court. The two big men had identical stat lines of seven points, nine rebounds, two assists and a steal. Their muscle down low helped keep the Wolves' rebounding advantage to 39-36.
Michael Olmert had a team-high four assist, to go with five points and two rebounds.
Four Wolves recorded double figures, led by Stephaun Branch, with 22 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. Aaron Cameron added 17 points.

Morehouse will travel to Athens, GA, Wednesday, at 7 p.m., to play the Georgia Bulldogs, in what will be a regular-season game for the Dawgs, but an exhibition game for the Maroon Tigers.
