Forward Michael Hall tipped in a missed free throw with one second left, to give Morehouse a 58-56 comeback win over the Claflin University Panthers.

Hall, a transfer from Harvard, put back an errant second free throw by Tyrius Walker who was fouled going to the basket with 1.5 seconds remaining. Walker's first free throw had tied the game at 56-56.

In his best game as a Maroon Tiger, Hall was active on both ends of the court. He posted nine points, three rebounds, two assists and a game-high five blocks.

After trailing 24-23 at halftime, Morehouse came out firing to start the second half and built an eight-point lead on the strength of consecutive three-pointers by Michael Scott, Javarius Gay and Tyrius Walker. The Panthers chipped away at the lead and surged ahead by four points, with five minutes left.

Clutch free throws down the stretch by Scott and Gay kept Morehouse within striking distance. The Tigers hit six of their 10 free throws in the second half.

Gay had one of his best games of the season, making his presence felt all over the court. He finished with 11 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Tyrius Walker continued to display the talent that earned him two consecutive SIAC Newcomer of the Week Awards. Walker chipped in 10 points, four assists, three rebounds and two steals.

Tyrone Brown hit 6 of 9 shots, for a team-high 12 points, to go with five rebounds. Michael Scott finished with seven points.

Adolph Caldwell, with 12 points and four rebounds, and Kendall Jackson, 10 points and six rebounds, carried the load for the Panthers.

Morehouse improved to 9-6; 7-1 SIAC. Claflin fell to 8-10; 5-4 SIAC.

The Maroon Tigers return to Forbes Arena, Monday, at 7:30 p.m., when they will host the Benedict Tigers.
