Maroon Tigers Fall to Wildcats

| By:

October 27, 2012 – The Maroon Tigers fell behind early, rallied late, then ran out of time, before falling, 26-19, to the Fort Valley State Wildcats at Homecoming.

Two of the Morehouse touchdowns came by way of big plays. One was a 68-yard fumble recovery touchdown run by linebacker Elijah Anderson. The other was a 97-yard touchdown reception from Donnay Ragland to Devon Mann.

The scoring reception was the longest scoring reception in school history, easily eclipsing the previous record of 80 yards held by three pairs of Maroon Tigers.

David Carter rushed for the other touchdown as part of his 115 yards on 39 carries.

In addition to his scoop and score, Anderson tied for a team-high nine tackles, collected one-and-a-half sacks and forced a fumble.

Demario Dixon and Russell Ellington also had nine tackles.

Morehouse fell to 2-7 (1-5 SIAC); Fort Valley improved to 7-2 (5-1 SIAC).

The Maroon Tigers will play the final home game of the season, Saturday, at 2 p.m., hosting the Kentucky State Thorobreds.
