Morehouse Loses at Tuskegee

February 14, 2011 – TUSKEGEE, AL – The Maroon Tigers lost another close game to the Tuskegee Golden Tigers, 75-70.
 
Tuskegee jumped out to an early lead and held on to it for most of the game. The Maroon Tigers chipped away at what became an 11-point lead, but the Golden Tigers weathered the storm.
 
Missed free throws and turnovers led to the Morehouse undoing. In the game's final minutes, the Maroon Tigers missed five free throws and committed four of their 17 turnovers.  On the other side, Tuskegee hit 14-of-16 free throws.
 
Hot-shooting Daniyal Faquir led three Maroon Tigers who scored in double figures. Faquir hit 5-of-9 three-pointers and led all scorers with 19 points.
 
Roderick Williams sank 6-of-7 shots for 13 points and Dana Kendrid scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds.
 
Morehouse dropped to 9-11 (9-9 SIAC).
 
Three players scored in double figures for Tuskegee, which improved to 14-7 (14-5 SIAC). Tuskegee beat Morehouse, 80-77, at Forbes Arena, January 22.  
 
The Maroon Tigers go on the road for four games, before returning home to face Lane, February 24, at 7:30 p.m.
