ATLANTA - The Maroon Tigers again took the field at nearby Washington High School for its fourth practice of fall camp on Wednesday morning. 

The early morning practice started at 5:30 a.m. and lasted until 8 a.m.

"Todays practice I thought went really well," said head coach Rich Freeman. "Of course yesterday and pretty much with every fall camp when you're getting started the defense usually gels together a lot faster than the offense and that was evident yesterday, but today the offense came around, we had a lot of explosive plays this morning with a lot of guys standing out. They did a good job of catching deep balls and finding the endzone so I was happy to see that. I was also happy to see the defensive line compete upfront in our inside drill period."

"Things are coming together, we are still a step behind in the kicking game due to having so many new guys. We like to play a lot of defensive backs, outside linebackers, hybrid tight end receiver type guys in the kicking game most of whom are new guys for us so they have to learn our philosophies. Its taking us a little while with that and also trying to tighten up specialty positions for kicker and long snappers. We have a lot of new guys that have ability we just have to make sure we get the consistency with timing."

"We do have some things that we will be working on, therefore this is going to be a work in progress all the way up to our first scrimmage which will be this Saturday. I like where we are now. Today was a good contact day, a good second contact day and tomorrow we will put on full pads so we will be able to go to the ground a little bit so we will definitely see where we are.:

MHC returns to the practice field for a full team practice on Thursday at 5:30 a.m.

Morehouse kicks-off the 2021 campaign on Sept. 4 as they travel to Livingston, Ala. to take on the University of West Alabama.
