ATLANTA, GA | Robert Robinson Jr. added another honor to his standout 2026 season, as the Morehouse College junior was selected as the Second Team designated hitter on the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II South All-Region Team.
Robinson, who served as the Maroon Tigers' leadoff hitter, was one of the most productive offensive players in the South Region. He led Morehouse with a .378 batting average, 56 hits, 46 runs scored, 13 home runs, 104 total bases, a .703 slugging percentage and a .508 on-base percentage. He also drove in 44 runs, drew 37 walks and stole 11 bases in 12 attempts, giving Morehouse elite production from the top of the lineup.
His all-region selection adds to a postseason résumé that already included First Team All-SIAC recognition at designated hitter and Second Team All-SIAC honors at catcher.
Robinson's presence at the top of the order helped fuel Morehouse baseball's best seasons in history. The Maroon Tigers finished 25-20 overall and 17-14 in SIAC play, posted one of the program's rare winning regular seasons since 1970, and advanced to the final day of the SIAC Baseball Tournament in Macon, Ga.
Beyond the numbers, Robinson became one of the most respected bats in the conference. He drew nine intentional walks during the season, the most on the team, while still producing 13 home runs and 44 RBIs from the leadoff spot. His combination of on-base ability, power and athleticism made him one of the most difficult outs in the region.
The NCBWA all-region honor places Robinson among the top players in NCAA Division II's South Region and gives Morehouse another regional accolade during a historic 2026 campaign for the Maroon Tigers.
