NEW ORLEANS, LA | The Morehouse Maroon Tigers roared back from an early six-run deficit and used a five-run sixth inning to pull even, but Southern University at New Orleans answered in the bottom half and held on for an 8-7 win in a seven-inning thriller Friday afternoon at Wesley Barrow Stadium in the Ron Washington Classic. After Morehouse trailed 6-0 through two innings, the Maroon Tigers steadied the game with timely plate appearances in the fourth and then erupted in the sixth to erase the gap entirely. The comeback push tied it at 7-7, but SUNO delivered the deciding swing in the bottom of the sixth to edge out the one-run decision.
