ATLANTA, GA | Morehouse College baseball placed three players on the All-SIAC Preseason Team, highlighted by T.J. Whiteman earning First Team honors at third base, while Elijah James (outfield) and James Thorpe (designated hitter) were named to the Second Team.
Whiteman enters the season as one of the league's top infield bats after hitting .343 with five home runs and 27 RBI a year ago. Thorpe, a power threat in the middle of the order, posted a .353 average with nine home runs and 30 RBI. James provided a spark in limited action, batting .432 (16-for-37) with 11 RBI.
In addition to the individual accolades, the Maroon Tigers were projected to finish seventh (out of 12 teams) in the conference's preseason outlook. The prediction places Morehouse firmly in the postseason conversation, as the top eight teams qualify for the SIAC Tournament.
With three preseason all-conference selections headlining the roster, Morehouse will look to turn that recognition into results on the field—aiming to climb the standings and secure a spot in the SIAC's eight-team postseason bracket.
