ATLANTA, GA | The Morehouse Maroon Tigers volleyball team faced a tough challenge in their doubleheader against the Edward Waters Tigers on March 15 at Frank L. Forbes Arena. Despite strong efforts in both matches, Morehouse fell in straight sets in each contest.
Game 1: Morehouse vs. Edward Waters (0-3)
Set 1: Morehouse 17, Edward Waters 25
The Maroon Tigers started strong but struggled to maintain momentum against Edward Waters' aggressive attack. Early kills from Braylon Dyson and Charles Parrish Jr. kept the score close, but a mid-set run from Edward Waters saw Morehouse fall behind. Service aces from Devonte Harmon and powerful kills from Omari Morris pushed Edward Waters to a commanding lead. Morehouse fought back with kills from Michael Bloodworth and Aidan Pullian, but the Tigers secured the set, 25-17.
Set 2: Morehouse 15, Edward Waters 25
The second set saw Morehouse improve its attacking efficiency, with contributions from Daniel Allen and Parrish Jr. However, Edward Waters continued to control the pace, led by setter Oneil Daley, who facilitated a balanced offensive attack. Morehouse's defensive efforts, highlighted by digs from Myles Tucker, kept them in the game, but unforced errors and a dominant showing from Edward Waters resulted in another set loss, 25-15.
Set 3: Morehouse 19, Edward Waters 25
Morehouse came out with renewed energy in the third set, pushing Edward Waters to the limit. Bloodworth led the way offensively with timely kills, while Jamar Shackleford Jr. contributed crucial assists. The Maroon Tigers kept the score close until the final stretch, but service aces and a late push from Edward Waters sealed the match with a 25-19 victory.

The Maroon Tigers put up their best fight in the second set, with an improved defensive effort and stronger net presence. Pullian and Allen each recorded crucial kills, while Lashawn Peeples anchored the defense with solid digs. Morehouse even led at points, but errors allowed Edward Waters to pull ahead late and close out the set, 25-19.
Set 3: Morehouse 16, Edward Waters 25
Despite battling throughout, Morehouse couldn't sustain enough offensive rhythm to take a set. Parrish Jr. and Bloodworth combined for several kills, but Edward Waters maintained their efficiency, especially at the service line. The Maroon Tigers' block presence improved with contributions from Allen and Pitts, but the visitors clinched the set, 25-16, to win the match.
