Elijah Pinckney hit two home runs and drove in three, but Morehouse Tigers lost to Tuskegee baseball 17-7 on Sunday. Pinckney homered in the fifth and first innings. Morehouse Tigers collected seven hits and Tuskegee baseball had 12 in the high-scoring affair.
Morehouse Tigers got on the board in the first inning after Pinckney hit a solo home run to left field. Tuskegee baseball took the lead, 4-1, in the bottom of the first thanks to two home runs. A double by Tuskegee extended the lead to 5-1 in the bottom of the second inning. Tuskegee added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Morehouse Tigers committed an error, followed by a single to center field, each scoring one run.
Pinckney homered to left field, scoring two runs in the top of the fifth for the Morehouse Tigers. Morehouse Tigers scored one run in the top of the sixth on a solo home run to center field by
James Thorpe. Tuskegee baseball scored six runs on three hits in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Saivion Mohammed stepped on the bump first for Morehouse Tigers. The right-handed pitcher gave up six hits and seven runs (six earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking none. Tuskegee amassed 12 hits in the game. Thorpe and Pinckney each collected two hits for Morehouse Tigers.
