ATLANTA- In a highly anticipated Battle of the AUC, the Morehouse College Maroon Tigers faced off against their arch-rivals, Clark Atlanta Panthers, in a sold-out arena on a Saturday afternoon. Despite Morehouse's eagerness for another victory, it was Clark Atlanta that emerged triumphant with a final score of 70-62.
The match got off to a slow start, with both teams struggling to find the basket. Cedric Taylor III broke the scoring deadlock at 18:02, putting Morehouse on the board. However, an "and-one" play by Elijah Stewart quickly shifted the momentum in favor of Clark Atlanta, leading 5-3. Morehouse rallied, resulting in the score being tied multiple times under the 10-minute mark. The first half saw a seesaw battle, but Clark Atlanta managed to pull ahead, finishing with a 14-point lead at 37-23.
