Talladega, AL- In an intense matchup on Thursday evening, Morehouse College clashed with Talladega, emerging victorious with a final score of 58-52.
Talladega started strong, establishing a small lead over Morehouse. However, the Maroon Tigers quickly responded, leveling the score to 10-10 at 11:07, courtesy of a three-pointer by Keshawn Pegues. Pegues' subsequent free throw gave Morehouse a one-point lead, but the Tornadoes retaliated swiftly, regaining control of the game. The score remained deadlocked at 17-17 before Morehouse made a decisive move, finishing the first half with a six-point lead at 26-20.
Returning from halftime, the Tornadoes staged a comeback at 14:12, with Lamont Sams stealing the ball and sinking a three-pointer. This threatened Morehouse's lead, setting the stage for a fiercely contested second half. The game remained highly competitive, with the score tied once again in the last 10 minutes by Amahn Decker.
