David Clowney IV Selected to Prestigious Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with Panthers

Atlanta, GA- Morehouse College Quarterback Coach David Clowney IV has accepted the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with NFL's Carolina Panthers.

"I am excited about the opportunity to come back and coach with the Panthers organization where I played in 2010-2011," said Clowney, "It's an incredible staff here and I just want to continue to learn and grow as a coach and continue to help players grow into the athletes and professionals that we all know they can be."

The Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, which was named after the late Pro Football Hall of Fame head coach which provides experience to outstanding coaches from diverse backgrounds. The program was designed as a vocational tool to increase the number of full-time NFL minority coaches. allows talented coaches to gain extremely valuable experience during the NFL teams' training camps, offseason workout programs, and minicamps. Applicants must meet certain criteria including having been a former NFL player or have coaching experience at the high school, college, or non-NFL professional leagues such as the XFL, CFL, etc.

"Coach Clowney embodies what we want to be about here at Morehouse College," Head Football Coach Gerard Wilcher said. "We are so excited about him participating in the Bill Walsh Minority Fellowship Program with the Carolina Panthers. We know this opportunity will help shed light on HBCU Morehouse and the fact that we have the ability to coach at a high level."

Clowney recently came to Morehouse after spending the past season as the Receivers Coach at Stetson University in DeLand, FL. He is a 2017 graduate from University of Miami with a master's degree in business administration.
