Jacksonville, FL- The Maroon Tigers keeps their winning streak going as they defeated Edward Waters on Saturday afternoon, 56-50.
Kerry Richardson would start the game off with a quick jumper putting Morehouse on the board with two points, but Edward Waters would quickly respond with a layup of their own and would take a small lead over the Maroon Tigers until a jumper by Mohammad Diallo would take a one point lead over the Tigers. Morehouse would keep their lead for majority of the first half until the last 3 minutes of the game when a foul by
Ibn Williams would send Marc Henry to the line take a one point lead. Both teams would go back and forth to finish the first half with the lead, but Morehouse would claim that title, 29-26.
The second half would have a slower start as both teams would have a hard time scoring until the 18 minute mark when
Ibn Williams would score the first points of the game, after that the Maroon Tigers would be on a roll with scoring. Edward Waters would go the whole second half without scoring until the 9 minute mark when a jumper by Larry Kuimi would finally put the Tigers on the board. With the Tigers finally scoring Morehouse already secured a good lead over the Tigers at the 4 minute mark they would take a 10 point lead. Within the last .6 seconds of the game, the Tigers broke that 10 point lead down by three points and Morehouse would finish with the win.
Larry Kuimi carried his team with 16 points.
Kerry Richardson has been on a roll carrying his team to victory, he would finish with 20 points.
The Maroon Tigers are on the road as they get ready to travel to Savannah State on Monday, Feb 6, tip off at 7pm.
