Savannah, GA- Morehouse advances to a six game winning streak as they beat Savannah State by an incredible buzzer beater, 71-70.
The Maroon Tigers would kick the game off with the first two points, but Savannah State quickly responded with a lay up of their own. After that it was back to back scoring until the Tigers would take a six point lead over the Maroon Tigers at the 14 minute mark. Both Morehouse and Savannah State would have a tough time scoring until a jumper by
Andrew Stewart put us back on the board and Morehouse would quickly break that lead down to one point. The Tigers would quickly change that one point advantage to 11 points but with back to back shots by
Elijah Stewart and
Nate Lacewell, Morehouse would finish the half with only a six point disadvantage, 28-34.
Savannah State would come back from the half ready to finish the game as they scored a three pointer with the first minute into the game. The Tigers would take a 20 point lead over the Maroon Tigers at 15 minute which would be the biggest lead they had for the whole game. The Maroon Tigers would make an unbelievable come back within the last .33 seconds of the game they would break that lead down to two points and the scoring would go back and forth until a foul by Elavian Bowles would send
Joemel McNair to the line, McNair would make one free throw and miss one but a rebound by Mohammad Diallo who would put the ball back up would give Morehouse the win.
Eleik Bowles would lead his team with 35 points, 2 assists, and 4 steals.
Joemel McNair would finish the 13 points.
