Atlanta, GA-The Maroon Tigers recently defeated the Albany State Rams 60-58 this past Wednesday, so the Rams were looking to even the score at Forbes Arena.
The Rams jumped off to an 8-0 start at the beginning of the game. Then the Maroon Tigers matched that run with eight straight points of their own. The Maroon Tigers took control, going on a big run to end the half 30-21. Maroon Tiger guard
Ibn Williams led the half with seven points. The Maroon Tigers led a balanced effort in the first half, with scoring coming from multiple players. In the first two minutes, the Maroon Tigers' lead ballooned to 16 in just two minutes in the second half, and it looked as if the Rams couldn't come back from their first-half deficit.
After scoring zero in the first half, ASU guard Malik Parker provided a significant spark to the Golden Ram's offense, scoring 19 points in the second half, shooting 5-8 from three. The Golden Ram's cut the lead 46-41 with 10:34 to play, but the Maroon Tigers went on a 6-0 run disallowing the lead to go under eight for the remainder of the game. The Maroon Tigers would come on top 66-56 versus the Golden Rams.
