Albany, GA- On Saturday afternoon our Maroon Tigers had an incredibly win against Tuskegee (13-12) and advanced to game four of the SIAC Baseball Championship.
The Maroon Tigers opened the scoring in the bottom half of the 1st inning as Daylun Powe-Salters homered a 3 RBI, getting Derrick Odom and Miles Grayson.
In the bottom of the 2nd inning, Morehouse would score three more runs. First was by David Coleman would follow beyond Powe-Salters with another home run, scoring one. The next one was Dexter Redding, and Amyr Smith.
Tuskegee responded with a run in the top of the 3rd inning with a fielder's choice by Albert Gonzalez who advanced Stallings to second, Lewis to third, and Barnes a run. That would be the only run Tuskegee would score until the 7th inning when 7 runs scored taking the lead.
After the 7th inning, the score was going back and forth on who was going to take the lead and get the win. In the top of the 9th inning, the score was 12-11 with Tuskegee winning. The Golden Tigers scored no runs during the top of the 9th.
Morehouse would come ready to finish out the game at the bottom of the 9th. Alan Brown singled to third and Amyr Smith scored getting the Maroon Tigers a one point lead. Derrick Odom and Daylun Powe-Salters were both intentionally walked. Jaiden Proper walked as well advancing everyone by one base and getting Alan Brown a run and giving Morehouse the win.
Daylun Powe-Salters had 3 RBI's, David Coleman had 2 RBIs, and Miles Grayson, Derrick Odom, and Jaiden Proper all had 1 RBI's.
The Maroon Tigers will be back in action tonight at 6pm as they take on Albany State.
