Box Score Atlanta, GA- The Maroon Tigers continues their winning streak as they beat Benedict in a doubleheader, 14-12, and 7-2.
Game #1: On Saturday, Benedict took a tough loss against Morehouse and came back the next day ready for revenge. Benedict would start out the game by scoring two runs from Brandon O'Connor and Ryan Chesney. In the second inning, the Tigers would score another run making the score 3-0, it wasn't until the fourth inning when Morehouse finally scored four runs.
Benedict and Morehouse fought neck and neck for the rest of the game tying up the score two times until the bottom of the seventh inning when
Alan Brown and
Jason Fleming both scored giving Morehouse a two point led. After taking the led the Maroon Tigers would take off and never look back.
Alan Brown and Jaylen Green would both end the first game with 3 RBI.
Game #2: Morehouse opened with a single line drive by
Derrick Odom allowing
Daylun Powe-Salters to advance to third and he scored on a pass ball. Odom would follow right behind giving Morehouse two points.
The second inning neither team would score. In the bottom of the third inning a single line drive by
Daylun Powe-Salters would let Jalen Proper score. Morehouse would go the fourth inning with no runs until the fifth and sixth inning when they would finish the game with 7 points.
The Tigers would go five innings without a single run until the sixth inning when Taj Bates scored the first point and in the top of the seventh inning when Brandon O'Connor would score again giving them 2 points which would be the only points, they would score.
Daylun Powe-Salters and
Kyle Dixon would finish with 2 RBI.
The Maroon Tigers are back in action on April 6 as they host Claflin University at 3pm.
