ATLANTA, GA – The Maryville University Saints defeated the Maroon Tigers in straight sets, 25-9, 25-13, 25-13, in the first game of a doubleheader at Forbes Arena.
The Maroon Tigers had a difficult time finding its offense against Maryville. After capturing the first set, the Saints surged to a 9-4 lead on the strength of back-to-back aces by freshman Victor Ganev. Morehouse cut the lead to three on sophomore
Chase Armstrong's kill, 10-13. However, Maryville scored six consecutive points late in the set, punctuated by a kill from Cole Torrence.
Morehouse began the last set with a 3-2 lead. Midway through the set, the Saints scored 10 points on 11 plays. The Maroon Tigers made a slight run late in the set, but Maryville's Ethan Beyreis-Heim's ace was the game-winner.

Bryce Clemons had two aces.
The loss drops the Maroon Tigers to 0-7.
