Atlanta, GA- This afternoon Morehouse hosted Stillman College at Gresham Park. Our Maroon Tigers played a strong game against Stillman but fell short as the Tigers took the win, 13-5.
Stillman scored three straight runs in the first inning. Their first run would come by second baseman L Rodriguez getting hit by a pitch allowing Right Fielder B Woodward to score.
After two more runs in the first inning, they would score another two runs in the third. Morehouse would get their first run on the board when First Baseman
Derrick Odom hits a double line drive to the right-field allowing Center Fielder
Jaiden Proper to get to home plate. Stillman SS DJ Powell would score a ground ball single from DH T Esterling.
Morehouse and Stillman would score one run in the fifth and sixth inning.
Derrick Odom would hit a home run to center field. Left Fielder
Jaylen Greene would score on a single by SS
Darren Avent.
In the eighth inning, Stillman would score on two walks and a double by L Rodriguez, allowing Whittle to score and an M Collins single, allowing DJ Powell to steal home. Maroon Tiger Right Fielder
Alan Brown would steal home in the ninth inning to end the game.
The Maroon Tigers play their next match against Spring Hill College in a double header at Gresham Park. The first game will take place at 12pm and again at 3pm.
