Fairfield, AL- The Maroon Tigers winning streak gets broken by Miles College on Monday evening, 70-62.
The Maroon Tigers would start the game of with two back to back threes from
Andrew Stewart and would start the game off with a 4 point lead over the Golden Bears, but that lead would quickly turn into a 1 point difference. The Golden Bears would completely take the lead from Morehouse at the 12 minute mark with a made layup by Jarrel Rosser. The Golden Bears would finish the first half of the game with a 6 point lead over the Maroon Tigers, 31-25.
Nate Lacewell would kick off the second half with a layup, but the Golden Bears would respond instantly with a jumper by Makai Vassell. At the 5 minute mark, Miles would have their longest lead of eleven points thanks to a layup by Mykayle Carter. The Maroon Tigers would keep breaking down the eleven point lead every chance they would get with 1:56 left in the game and two free throws from
Andrew Stewart the lead would get to only a 4 point difference, but that break would not cut it enough to get the Maroon Tigers their next win. Miles College would finish the game with the win.
Makai Vessel would lead his team with double digits as he finished the game with 20 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 assists.
For Morehouse,
Andrew Stewart would have a career high of 29 points and 6 rebounds. Followed behind him was
Elijah Stewart with 10 points, and 2 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals.
The Maroon Tigers will be back on their home court on Thursday, Dec 1, against Spring Hill College. Tip off at 7pm.
