Talladega, AL- The Maroon Tigers officially started their 22-23 season against Talladega College on Saturday afternoon. After trailing by 11 during the first half, the Tornadoes would come back ready for a win and outscored the Maroon Tigers, 67-55.
The Tornadoes (3-1) trailed the Maroon Tigers 33-22 at the half, powered by some hot shooting from Morehouse who never trailed in the first half and took a 33-22 lead to the locker room.
Morehouse held the largest lead in the contest at 17 points which came with 3:35 left before the half. The Tornadoes would shrink that lead to 11 points before going to the locker room and built a 14-point lead in the second half with 48 seconds left before settling on a 12-point victory margin.
For Talladega, Keshawn Pegues would lead his team with 14 points, followed behind him was Wilfred Campbell IV would had 13 points.
Billy Thomas was the only Maroon Tiger in double-digits as he came off the bench to score 14 points and snag a pair of rebounds.
Morehouse shot 38.6 percent (17-of-44) during the game, 37.5 percent (9-of-24) from behind the arc, and 70.6 percent (12-of-17) at the line.
The Maroon Tigers next match is back at home on Wednesday, Nov 16, as they get ready to host Columbus State University. Tip off at 7pm.
