Birmingham, AL – In a historic battle between the Tigers, Morehouse dropped the SIAC conference matchup to Tuskegee in the annual Morehouse Tuskegee Classic, 31-14, Saturday evening at Legion Field Stadium.
Within in the first five minutes of the game, Tuskegee's Bryson Williams would pass the ball to Deondre Harvey scoring the first touchdown of the game. Arnes Husick would make his field goal, making the score 7-0.
The Maroon Tigers would go the entire first quarter without scoring but quickly turned that around in the second quarter with a ten yard rushing touchdown by
Derrach West. Olu Baker would go for a field goal attempt but would get his kicked blocked, leaving the score 7-6. Morehouse would keep their scoring streak going by getting another touchdown by Ke'Andre Turner, but Tuskegee would quickly respond with a touchdown of their own finishing the first half with a score of, 14-14.
Tuskegee would quickly kick off the second half with a touchdown from Bryson Williams, 21-14. Morehouse would struggle to keep up their scoring streak for the rest of the second half. Tuskegee would score two more touchdown in the third quarter and concluded their winning streak early in the fourth quarter by scoring another touchdown and taking the win with a 31-14 victory.
The Maroon Tigers are on the road again next week as they travel to Fort Valley, Saturday October 15, Kick off is 2pm.
